They contacted Eric from IVP (Illinois Valley Paranormal) to interview him and his group, and Eric contacted Jeremy to come along. The interview turned out to be a short investigation of The Lithuanian Cemetery in Spring Valley, IL. The article ran on the front page of the paper and has since brought both Grigori and IVP several clients and member applicants! We are very grateful to Brock Cooper, the reporter and The LaSalle News Tribune for running such a great article and turning heads our way! Im so glad I went! I had such a great time and I cannot wait until next year!
We didnt get there until Thursday night/Friday morning around 2am, so we missed Pinhead. But on Friday we got started with a workshop by Chris Fleming on the afterlife called "Why are we here?" It was very interesting and while I dont share some of his views on the afterlife, he touched base with many of my opinions and theories, so it was refreshing to hear. After that we went to the opening ceremony "dinner" (meat on a stick and veggies and dip and tea... :rolleyes: ). Following the dinner and opening ceremony was for me, the most thought provoking talks of the entire conference. Lorraine Warren and Father James Lebar talked about demonology and their experiences with demonology, exorsisms, and the people and families involved. It was interesting, scary and helped me to understand a little more about that side of the paranormal world. The video they showed of an exorcism in particular opened my eyes to how real this all is. Frightening, but eye opening. After the ceremony, I got a chance to hang out with some of these wonderful people from IPI. I dont think I've had that much fun in a long time and its an honor to call you guys my friends. Saturday afternoon we went to Keith Johnson's (with frequent comments and quips from the peanut gallery-aka Carl Johnson Lol! )workshop, An Introduction to Demonology. I really enjoyed this, it was extremely informative and all this talk on demonology has my interest piqued and I really want to learn more. After that, we all had some time to kill before the evenings proceedings, so a few of us walked around the campus and into town shopping, debating with tattoo artists (or should I say unwavering receptionists) and just having fun. At 7:00 we were back for the A&E Presentation of the premiere of Paranormal State. For those who dont know, starting in December, A&E will premiere this television series. Its a group of college kids from Penn State who are members of one of the first university sanctioned paranormal research groups in the country, The Paranormal Research Society. The show surrounds their dealings with the paranormal world. For me, Im really excited to see these kids in action. They are inspiring to me, but then again, Im a bit of a noob to all this lol! Regardless, Im very excited to see this show! Following the show, a few of us went out to a party on campus where we hung out with many of the celebrities like Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, Chris Fleming, Carl Johnson, Ryan Buell (from Paranormal State), and more. Although the party was a little lame...and the drinks were...amazingly horrid, it was fun to rub shoulders with some of these people. Sunday had to be my favorite day overall. All of the talking about paranormal...talking and talking and talking...we finally decided to have an impromptu investigation. We (IPI Trish, IPI Tami, IPI Jeannette, SSGHD Mike, DeadAmiee, Grigori Jer and I) went to Egg Hill Church after finding out that we all seemed to be pulled to that location in one way or another. Amazingly enough, the grounds keeper was there and, thanks to Jeremy, with a little prodding, he helped us get into the church. For those who went and for those who want to know more, I found a pretty decent two part documentary on Egg Hill Church. Have a look! (Part 1 & Part 2) I think we all had our own impressions of this place and drew our own conclusions as to whether or not its haunted, but regardless, we all had a good time, and Im so glad we went. We also went to another church in the area, Swamp Church, but we weren't able to get inside. After that, we drove back to see the talk with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson on TAPS. They talked about what they look for on investigations, and they showed clips of evidence they have found and then they had a question and answer period. And Univcon ended with that. After that, we all went back to get some much needed sleep. Overall I had a great time. The one thing that bothered me was the fact that there were no vendors. I guess there was a problem with insurance for them, so they didnt have any this year. Other than that, everything was great! We had a great trip home and I got to spread my photographic wings and take some pictures of the beautiful country side. So, here are a LOT pics from the whole trip:

Jer and Chris Fleming
<img style="DISPLAY: block;
